Angus Tarripoi?

I hope it’s mentioned. Chief Hiawatha has written extensively about this subject.

Why don’t you say anything real?

Well, look here, buckaroo. . .I’ll have you know that you’re not the first one to ask that. And still, there are few answers to such a question; although, it has been duly noted that in absolute careful judgment have poor decisions been made. Nonetheless, look to the question before you look for an answer. In other words, try the Salmon Burger and the Death Ice Cream Man–I’ve seen lives change in smaller wrolds with more important destruction. Even those who try to create a following have a few idiots willing to listen to them–the rest is all purposeful accidents.

No, really….what is a sloaf?

Lots of people ask me, “Hey Chief, what is a sloaf?” And I smile because I always smile when someone asks me such a powerful and silly question. The act of making a sloaf, or creating a sloaf, or finding a sloaf, is called “sloafing”, just as when you bake you’re baking, when you fake you’re faking, and when you test you’re testing. It’s that simple.

Now, there is no one way to sloaf. I’ve known sloafers of all different sizes and nationalities. I’ve seen kosher sloafers and vegan sloafers, alcoholic sloafers and stoned sloafers, and I’ve never met a sloafer I didn’t like. I’ve known some sloafers to hit the Titranium Sloafism on their first try. Other sloafers have to play a little longer before they groove the sloaf. But as they say on the radio, “Once a sloafer, always a sloafer.”

Here’s a little sloafing anecdote which happened to me only a few days ago:

I was playing scrabble with my friend J and was talking about the new Steve Reich piece in which he collaborated with his videographer wife, Beryl Korot. I said to J, “Last night I went to see the new Steve Reich piece, the one with the video.” J replies, “Who did the video for that, Bryan Cordoff?” And I smiled because I always smile when someone lobs a big sloafball up over the plate.

Lesson one is now through. Go back to your business now.

Good luck.

Chief
